Watching a WMV download of John McLaughlin & the Translators 'Aspan' from a site "When Blue Turns To Gold" (via "Pages of Fire" site), the usual excellent McLaughlin playing but also with French keyboard honey (errr... virtuoso!) Katia Labeque (oh boy, what a dish! ) . But "Skakti with John McLaughlin" is in the CD at pres. By the way, there's quite a few video downloads on this page but the files are big - 'Aspan' is 25MB for instance - so expect huge download times if you're not broadband yet.

Annoying double standard...
by Aztec ini've watched a little bit of mtv lately and it's been absolutely bugging the crap out of me as i watch these inane music videos: men can be physically unattractive but still talented musically and get recognition, not the same for women!
they have to be perfect looking in every way on top of being able to at least carry a tune.
i'm sick of watching beyonce writhe and christina strut around half naked.

Food poisoning - I'll pass on the chicken, next time!!!
by LittleToe inwell, yesterday i suffered my first case of food poisoning.. i had a meal with friends (about 12 of us), and myself and one of the lassies had chicken, whilst everyone else had lamb.. three hours later, the two of us ended up violently sick, and she was rushed to hospital because of complications with diabetes.. so, i've taken the day off work, as i didn't sleep much last night, and have just been sipping water for nearly 24 hours.
if needs be, i'll take tomorrow off, too.. i'm back off to bed.

Hasn't chicken been a news item now & then, over the past wee while? Imported chicken that was heavily diluted with water was one I remember. Also, quite a few times, when there's been a scandal concerning the re - cycling of meat considered unfit for human or animal consuption into the food chain by unscrupulous operators, chicken seems to be the one most frequently mentioned. Recently, it seems to be the only one mentioned, so perhaps it's an area where bigger profits from disgusting food are more likeley due to the huge amounts of waste that do seem to stem from its production if the news reports we see are anything to go by & oh boy I've just considered how wonderful all that must make LittleToe feel after his present visit from uncles ' Bob & Huey '. Sorry, pal! Get well soon & all that. Really, though, just what the hell are we being served or sold at times?
